Giving To St Michael's

We could not fulfil our God-given vision without the generous offering of time, talents and money by members of our congregation and visitors.  We encourage regular members of the Church to join our Giving Scheme and to contribute to the vision of the Church and the activities associated with it.

It costs approximately £500 a day to maintain the work of St Michael’s.  This includes the upkeep of the Grade One listed building and the expenses of running the ministry and outreach of the Church.  There are no funds provided from outside sources, so that we depend on the commitment and generosity of our members and friends to pay for the running expenses of the Church.

You can give to St Michael's Church in several ways -

  • By joining the Church Giving Scheme and contributing by way of bank standing order.
  • By making a donation to Church funds.  This can be done by sending us a cheque or cash, or by using the 'Donr' facility on your mobile phone, by texting 'STMIC' plus any amount between £2 and £20, to 70085.  For example, text 'STMIC 10' if you want to give £10.  This can also be gift aided.
  • By agreeing to 'gift aid' your donation if you are a tax payer (this allows the Church to claim back an additional 25% of your donation).
  • By leaving a legacy in your will.

See details below.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer you could be eligible to add Gift Aid to your donation. For every pound you give us, the Church gets an extra 25 pence from HM Revenue & Customs, and it doesn’t cost you any more. This means that every £100 we receive can be turned into £125.gift-aid

If you can, please use Gift Aid every time you give to St Michael’s and help us to make a difference.
