Company at Christmas

Company at ChristmasWould you like an opportunity to join in a wonderful Christmas Day Party in 2016?

Under the banner of “Churches Together in Bishop’s Stortford; we give a party at the Methodist Church, South Street, for anyone in our Town who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day. This is a happy and popular event and is enjoyed by guests and helpers alike.

How can you be involved? In order to ensure the safety of our frailest guests, we need a minimum of 24 Helpers from 11,00 am – 5.00 pm on Christmas Day. You welcome guests, sit down with them and help to serve and share in a full Christmas Dinner. Also, about 60 “meals on wheels” need to be assembled, and taken out by drivers to those who are house bound.

Have you time on Christmas Eve (3.00 to 6.00 pm)? We prepare vegetables (please bring your own knives and peelers), help decorate the Hall and lay the tables

On Christmas Day we need Drivers to take out “meals on wheels” at 11.45 am, then to collect guests and bring them to the Hall, and again at 5.00 pm to take guests back home.

There will be a Meeting for all
Christmas Day Helpers
(excluding Drivers) on
Wednesday 7th December,
at 8.00pm at the Methodist
Church. It is really important for all
helpers to attend this meeting, as
it is the only chance we all have to
meet with each other beforehand.
There will be a
Coffee Morning
to replenish the Funds, on
Saturday, January 7th
10am -12 noon. Offers of
Help, Cakes, Scones and
Gifts for the stall, will all be
gratefully received.

Your help in any of the ways listed above would be very much appreciated. Please sign on the sheet on the table in the Publicity Area of church, or contact the Parish Office, telephone: 01279 654416

Thank you all very much
